Jordan M. Sempsrote, 10, of Shelbyville, died Monday, April 9, 2012, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. After a very long stay at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital, Jordan succumbed to complications from surgery.
Born Jan. 1, 2002, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Jeff Linville and Brooke Sempsrote.
Survivors include his father and his mother, both of Shelbyville; maternal grandmother, Jan McDaniel of Shelbyville, with whom he and his mother shared a home; maternal grandfather, Victor Sempsrote of Pennsylvania; paternal grandparents, Don and Anna Linville of Shelbyville; and his most special friend and big sister, Abby Sempsrote of Shelbyville.
Jordan was a lifetime resident of Shelbyville and had attended Coulston Elementary School for a year. Due to a long illness, Jordan had been unable to continue school, but he had a love for learning. He adored reading and listening to the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series.
Jordan loved video games and “Star Wars.” He was known to snuggle with one of his three favorite women and watch movies. He also enjoyed going on scenic rides with his Papaw Don and loved to swim with his Grandma Jan.
Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.
A graveside service will be at Forest Hill Cemetery at 2 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. David Humphrey officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jordan Sempsrote memorial Fund in care of the funeral home.
