Velma M. Blair

Velma Marie Blair, 89, of Shelbyville, passed away March 18, 2017 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born August 31, 1927 in Grayson County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Albert and Stellar (Farris) Nash. She married Walter “Bill” Blair on July 31, 1943 and he passed away on January 17, 1997.
Survivors include: daughter Joyce Smith (husband Doy) of Shelbyville, and Bob Blair (wife Valerie) of Union, Kentucky, a brother- Junior Nash of Litchfield, Kentucky, 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, son Howard Ray Blair, and 6 brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Blair had lived in this area over 50 years, after moving from Kentucky.
She was a factory worker at TRW Cinch in Shelbyville for several years.
Velma enjoyed the outdoors, attending garage sales, and sitting on her back porch. She dearly loved her family and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at 12:00 noon at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with Rev. Harvey Weaver officiating.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 9-12:00 noon at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Miller Cemetery in Shelby County.
Memorial contributions can be made to OUR Hospice of South Central Indiana in care of the funeral home.

My condolences to the entire Blair Family. Aunt Velma was the kindest, sweetest person and she will be deeply missed. Soar with the angels in Heaven!
