Robert McNett

ROBERT L. McNETT, 69, of Shelbyville, Ind., passed away Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born June 14, 1948, in Leavenworth, Kan., he was the son of Robert Lee Jarred and Delores Elaine (Schultz) McNett. He married Janet Sue (McKeever) McNett on Oct. 5, 1968; she survives. He was a longtime Indiana resident, having moved to Shelbyville only recently. He had been employed as a maintenance supervisor for 37 years with the Indiana Toll Road, retiring in 2003. He graduated from Prairie Heights High School in LaGrange, Ind., and served with the U.S. Army in Vietnam as a Specialist 5. Robert’s family and grandsons were most important to him. Other survivors include daughter, Shannon Lee (Jim) Silcox of Syracuse; son, Michael Ross (Marci) McNett of Ft. Myers, Fla.; siblings, Beverly Leach of Fort Wayne, Sherrie Young of Avon, Mechelle (Steve) Bruns of Angola; grandsons, Maxwell Jarred Silcox, Harrison Edward Silcox and Elijah Kavanaugh; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Jimmy McNett. No funeral services or calling hours will be observed.
