Richard E. Elliott

Richard E. Elliott, 86 of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018, at Franciscan Alliance in Indianapolis.
Born September 15, 1931, in Shelbyville, he was the son of William Forrest Elliott Sr. and Iva (Barr) Elliott.
He married Linda (Crisman) Elliott on February 26, 1960 and she survives.
Other survivors include 9 children, Mike (wife Peggy) Elliott of Shelbyville, Steve (wife Cozetta) Elliott of Greenwood,
Rick (wife Patty) Crisman of Shelbyville, Larry (wife Penny) Hensley of Homer, Donnie (wife Debbie) Hensley of Greenwood,
Tim(wife Terri) Hensley of Shelbyville, Richard Elliott of Shelbyville, Angie(husband Bruce) Schwering of St. Paul, David
Elliott of Shelbyville; siblings, Joe (wife Ida) Elliott of Shelbyville, sister Ruth Wilder of Shelbyville, Edna (husband Robert)
Kuhn of Morristown; many grandchildren and great grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Johnny Elliott, & William “Red” Elliott, sisters Annie
Sanford, Mary Smothers, and Betty McTarsney
Mr. Elliott was a lifetime resident of this area. He was a supervisor for Boise Cascade in Indianapolis retiring
after 20+ years of service. He had also been a woodworker for Indiana Desk Company for 18 years. He was a member of Waldron
Baptist Church. Mr. Elliott served in the National Guard.
Richard enjoyed woodworking, fishing, music, and in his younger years he raced stock cars. He was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 pm Thursday,
February 8, 2018 at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm, Friday, February 9, 2018 at the funeral home.
A graveside military service will be conducted by a local veterans organization.
Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville.
Memorial contributions can be made to American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
