Ralph Bridge, 92, of Greenwood, passed away June 6, 2017 at Franciscan St. Francis.
Born December 26, 1924 in White County, Indiana, he was the son of Roy and Beatrice
(Townsley) Bridge. He married Margene (Favor) Bridge on October 10, 1947 and she
preceded him on January 18, 1987. Ralph then married Betty (Best) Bridge on July 8, 1989
and she survives in Greenwood.
Other survivors include: daughters Nancy Benson (husband David ) of Greensburg, Sandra
Blake of Indianapolis; stepdaughters Barbara Griffin (husband Mike) of Nashville Indiana, Karen
Emlet (husband Jerry) of Indianapolis, Nancy Young (husband Dennis) of Indianapolis; brother
Paul Bridge (wife Kay) of Idaville Indiana, sister Ruth Cosgray (husband Glenn) of Idaville; 9
grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded
in death by his parents, his first wife Margene, and 3 brothers Harold, Howard, and Wayne Bridge.
Mr. Bridge was a self employed farmer and an auto and tractor mechanic his entire lifetime. He
graduated from Idaville High School in 1942 and after graduation, joined the US Navy during
WWII where he served as a 2nd class gunner’s mate. He was a member of Union Chapel
Methodist Church and also a member of St. Jude Catholic Church of Greenwood. He was a
member of American Legion Post #0252 in Greenwood.
Ralph enjoyed fishing and attending his grandchildren’s ball games. He loved playing basketball
and baseball in his younger years, and enjoyed watching sports on TV.
Funeral services will be on Friday June 9, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Glenn E. George Funeral Home,
106 E. Franklin St., St. Paul, with Rev. Stephen Banet and Pastor David Lee officiating. Friends
may pay their respects on Friday June 9, from 12:00 noon until the time of the service at the
funeral home. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery in Decatur Co.

in care of the funeral home.
