Oretta Ramey

Oretta Ramey, 86, of Waldron, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2018 at her residence.
Born November 19, 1931 in Clinton, Illinois, she was the daughter of Malcomb  Ashbrook and
Loretta (Roy) Ashbrook.  She married David M. Ramey in September of 1948, and he preceded
her in death in December of 1975.
Survivors include 6 children- Peggy Tucker of Spencer, Sherry DeWire (husband Larry) of Holton,
Michael Ramey of Osgood, Rebecca Kuntz (husband Todd) of Waldron, Deborah Ramey of Waldron,
Mark Ramey (wife Cheri) of Shelbyville; 2 brothers- Lyle Ashbrook of Colorado, Fred Ashbrook of
Indianapolis,  2 sisters- Thelma Richards of Bedford, Sharon Marshall of Shelbyville; 10 grandchildren-
John Tucker Jr., Tania Osborne, Waylon Tucker, Jeremiah DeWire, Andrew Ramey, Janeen Burkhart,
Jennifer Wamsley, Elyssa Yantiss, Callie Ramey, Cole Ramey; 19 great grandchildren- John III, Jake,
Kenadee, Addison, Emily, Ashley, Thomas, Wyatt, Weston, Wade, Wiley, Ashlyn, Molly, Levi, Ethan,
Emma, Addy, Luke, & Hayden. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouse, daughter Brenda K.
Ramey, 4 brothers and 1 sister, & son-in-law SteveTucker.
Mrs. Ramey had lived in this area for most of her adult life.  She was a home maker.  She attended
Ninevah High School and was a member of Beacon Baptist Church.
Oretta enjoyed fishing, reading, and mushroom hunting.  She dearly loved her family, grandchildren,
and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral
Home, 437 Amos Road, with Pastor Nick Coulston officiating. Friends may call from 4-8:00 pm Monday,
February 5, 2018 at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery in Shelby County.
Memorial contributions can be made to OUR Hospice of South Central Indiana, or Mt. Pisgah Baptist
Church, in care of the funeral home.

My Mother, my rock, my biggest supporter... don't know what I'm going to do without her...😥 I will be turning to the Lord for guidance , strength & healing in the very difficult times ahead. As in "Footprints of God" it will be when I notice my footprints dissapear, he will be carrying me....🙏🏼
