Norma L. Kerr
Norma Lou Kerr, 88, of Shelbyville, passed away Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at Ashford Place Health Campus.
Born March 17, 1929, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Ora Pickett and Sophia (Yeager) Pickett. She married James D. Kerr on Sept. 26, 1947, and he passed away March 12, 2013.
Survivors include son, Mike Kerr (wife, Karen), of Manilla; daughter, Vicki Vaughn (husband, Mike), of Turney, Missouri; sister-in-law, Jean Thomas, of Shelbyville; seven grandchildren, Shane Tippin (wife, Christy), Heather Beyer (husband, Andy), Christina Johnson (husband, Zac), Leslie Vaughn (fiancé, John), Julie Vaughn, Becky Edwards (husband, Dave), and Travis Vaughn; and 16 great-grandchildren, Taylor, Teresa, Kevin, David, Maddie, Destiney, Alexi, Kyleigh, Aleah, Jasmine, Savannah, Alyssia, Corbin, Quintin, Jordan and Audrie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; son, Dean Kerr; brothers, Don and George Pickett; sister, Vernabell Bornhorst; and brothers-in-law, John Thomas and Francis Bornhorst.
Mrs. Kerr was a lifetime resident of this area, and was a member of Rays Crossing Christian Union Church.
Norma enjoyed fishing, crocheting, cooking and collecting antiques.
Graveside services will be Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Lewis Creek Baptist Cemetery in Shelby County. Pastor Jim Earlywine will officiate.
There will be no visitation observed.
Memorial contributions can be made to Meals On Wheels or Salvation Army in care of the funeral home.
