Mary Virginia Fuchs

Mary Virginia Fuchs, 97, of Waldron passed away on September 8, 2017 at Major Health Partners in Shelbyville.

She was born to William B. Jenkins and Dora Edna (Wharton) Jenkins on October 27, 1919 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. She married Wallace W. Fuchs on May 21, 1939 and he preceded her in death in 2013.

Survivors include: sons: Donald (wife Naomi) Fuchs of Shelbyville and Ronald ( wife Jane) Fuchs of Waldron. She is also survived by sisters: Edith Carr of Columbus, Indiana,Jean Williams of Washington, Indiana and. June ( husband Don) Dawson of Rushville; and brothers John William ( wife Jean) Jenkins of Kentucky, Jim ( wife Polly) Jenkins of Shelbyville. Four grandchildren, Kevin (companion Alfonso) Fuchs of Chicago, Matt ( wife Mary) Fuchs of Shelbyville, Julie Watkins of Shelbyville, and Jeffery ( wife Lisa) Fuchs of Greenfield and six great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Mrs. Fuchs was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother, Robert Jenkins, and stepmother Elva Jenkins.

She was a lifetime resident of Shelby County.

She was a homemaker and graduated from Manilla High School.

She was a lifetime member of the Blue Ridge Christian Union Church where she was a member of the Women’s Fellowship and a Sunday School teacher for many years.

Virginia loved quilting, cooking, and watching her hummingbirds.

Services will be held at the Blue Ridge Christian Union Church on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at 10:00 am with Pastor Brandon Sutton and Rev Dennis Hirschauer officiating.

Visitation will be at the Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road in Shelbyville on Monday, September 11, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.

Burial will be held at the Blue Ridge Cemetery in Shelby County.

Memorial donations may be made to the Blue Ridge Christian Union Church in care of the funeral home.
