Margaret Alexander

Margaret Alexander has come to the end of her earthly journey and has peacefully joined her party in Heaven.
Margaret, 96, of Shelbyville, departed this life on August 1, 2017 at the Walker House in Shelbyville.  Born  November 14, 1920
in Fountaintown, she was the daughter of Forrest and Bertha (Goodwin) Scott.  On October 14, 1938 she married
Maurice Berry and he passed away December 15, 1973.  She then married Harold H. Alexander on October 7, 1979
and he preceded her on June 13, 2009.
Survivors include: Stepson Dwain Alexander (wife Karen) of Shelbyville, stepdaughter Patricia Alexander (husband Lewy)
of Flat Rock; brother Kenneth Scott of Missouri, sister Opal Driffill of Greenfield; 7 grandchildren- Shelley, Brett, Michelle, Curt,
Brendon, Christy, Brian, and several great grandchildren, several  great-great grandchildren;  2 nephews- Dr. Ken Scott and family and A.R. Scott
and family, both from Missouri; daughter in law Margie VanMeter (husband Larry)  of Shelbyville; and is also survived
by several nieces and nephews in Michigan.    Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Maurice Berry and Harold
Alexander, and son Larry Jackson.
Mrs. Alexander was a lifelong resident of this area, and had been a home maker and also had been a floral designer for Cossairt
Florist (15 years), Drake’s Flowers, and B&R Florist for 8 years.  She graduated from Morristown High School and was a
member of West Street United Methodist Church.
Margaret enjoyed playing cards and loved her flowers, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Funeral services will  be Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Rd., with visitation
there from 11:00 am until the time of the service.  Pastor Steve Brackney will officiate, and she will be laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made to American Heart Association, in care of the funeral home.
