Lucy M. Junken
Lucy M. Junken, 94, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at her residence.
Born July 15, 1923 in Vevay, she was the daughter of Clyde Stevenson Taylor and Lula Princess
(Turner) Taylor. She married Harold Eugene Junken on February 17, 1944 and he passed away on
August 13, 2004.
Survivors include 3 daughters- Anita Lynn Stokes (husband Michael), Barbara Kay Coyner
(husband Keith), & Janet Junken Richardson, all of Indianapolis; 4 grandchildren- Kevin Alan Coyner
(wife Jessica), Sarah Elizabeth Buitendyk (husband Randall), Stephanie Christina Richardson
(husband Mark Bulmahn), Jeffrey Charles Richardson; and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by her parents, spouse, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mrs. Junken had lived in Indianapolis since 2001, after moving from Shelbyville. She had been employed
at TRW Cinch in Shelbyville as an inspector in quality control for over 30 years, before retiring. She
graduated from Waldron High School in 1941 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was a member of the Fireman’s Auxillary, and St. Joe Travel Club.
Lucy was an avid reader. She enjoyed traveling, loved spending time with her family, instilling in them
the importance of strong family ties.
A private family graveside service will be Monday, November 13, 2017 at Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will
be observed on Sunday, November 12, 2017 from 2-5:00 pm at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home,
437 Amos Road. Fr. Keith Coyner will officiate at graveside service.
Memorial contributions can be made to American Heart Association, American Parkinson’s Disease Association,
or charity of the donor’s choice.
Janet - I'm so very sorry for your loss. Your Mom was such a special lady. I know that your parents have given you lots of pleasant memories and that they will live on in your heart forever.
