Clyde Edward Sims
Clyde Edward Sims, 84, long time resident of Shelby County passed away at his home on October 24th, 2017 in Lebanon, Indiana. He was born in McKinney, Kentucky on September 29th, 1933 to Leon and Nellie (Carmen) Sims. After proudly serving his country in the Navy, in the Korean War, Clyde returned home to McKinney, KY. On July 31st, 1961, he married his loving and dedicated wife of 56 yrs., Shirley Virginia Guinn, who took faithful care of him throughout all the years of their marriage. He loved fishing, hunting, listening to classic country music, and was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan.
Survivors include, his wife Shirley Virginia Sims; his son, Clyde Sims of Shelbyville, Daughter, Lori (Sims) Ferguson (husband Steve) of Shelbyville, Stepson, Jack Stierwalt Jr., (wife Karen) of Ingalls; 6 grandchildren; Bethany and Christopher Ferguson, Matthew and Emily Sims, Ben and Erin Stierwalt; 2 sisters, Joyce Sharp of Lexington, KY, Lois Statom of Greenwood, IN, and 1 brother, Earl Sims of Indianapolis; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, with visitation there from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery. A graveside military service will be conducted by a local veterans organization.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Veterans of Foreign Wars, in care of the funeral home.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I remember my Uncle Clyde as always being happy when he was around, and he was a great brother to my mom. He will be missed dearly. Pam Statom
