Barbara J. Bullard

Barbara Jean Bullard, 77, of Fountaintown, passed away October 6, 2017 at her residence. 
Born April 30, 1940 in Greensburg, she was the daughter of Eugene Swegman and Hazel
(Taylor) Swegman.  She married Larry Bullard on April 15, 1980 and he survives.
Other survivors include 3 daughters- Kelly Bassett (husband Steve) of Shelbyville, Glenda
Gauck (husband Jeremy) of Arlington, Anna Williams of Evansville; sister Diana Yates (husband
Michael) of Shelbyville; 7 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death
by her parents, son Charles Leonard White, infant twins, and brothers Richard Eugene Swegman,
and Ernest Hollis.
Mrs. Bullard had lived in this area for her lifetime.  She attended Greensburg High School and had
been employed as Head of Radio Communications with the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department for
29 years, until her retirement. 
Barbara enjoyed attending flea markets and rides in the country.  She was a “home body” who
loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday, October 9, 2017 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home,
437 Amos Road, with Pastor Gary Holt officiating.  Visitation will be observed on Sunday evening,
October 8, 2017 from 4-8:00 pm.  Burial will be in Arlington East Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Shelby County Cancer Association, in care of the funeral home.
